About Me

My name is Maryam, but most people call me Maz – I don’t mind either, so go ahead and call me Bob.

I write about social issues and general well-being. I’ve written about religion and mental health, LGBT+ rights, psychology, brexit, issues affecting women of colour, social work, DNA tests… The list continues. Over the years I have written for The Guardian, Buzzfeed, The Independent, Gal-Dem and various others. You can check it all out on the ‘My Work’ page on my site.

Okay, so that’s the formal stuff done. Other facts about me: I have a cat called Maanu (pronounced Mun-noo) who is 14 years old and has my heart. thumbnail_20190524_122022

I’m south London born and raised, my star sign is Cancer, and I am indeed a bit of a hermit crab most of the time. I am currently writing a book and I hope it will be complete soon.

If you want to contact me about anything, you can email me: mhalimakhan at gmail dot com
